A new initiative by the Society in collaboration with the Economics Department this year, The Amartya Sen Club will be a weekly meeting providing an intimate setting for members to discuss and debate ideas and to get to know like-minded people.
The offspring of last year’s Shapiro Research Seminars, there will be a structure for the year where diverse, heterodox topics within the field of Economics will be thoroughly examined. The Sen Club will hold unique opportunities for close interaction with prominent economists and academics.
There will also be opportunities in Lent Term to conduct and publish your own research project.
“Imparting education not only enlightens the receiver, but also broadens the giver – the teachers, the parents, the friends. Indeed, the nature of education is quite central to peace in the world.” – Amartya Sen
